I started recording on location in 1986 and the decision was pretty much made then and there to spend all my time and effort in the pursuit of perfect field recordings. Since then I have made Sound my life and have worked in all categories of audio engineering. I am easily entertained but not easily impressed. I derive joy from small victories on location but I am never satisfied. These are traits that I believe all good location recordists share. Whether I am doing Post on a project or not, my knowledge of the post process allows me, in production, to recommend a course of action that will save time in post and ensure that all the necessary sounds are "in the can".
